DescriptionTEKsystems is looking for a Project manager to support our client in the Nashville, TN market in their Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) department during a period of sustained project volume and complexity.The PDC team oversees approximately 100 active construction and renovation projects at any given time, spanning new medical facilities, major renovations, and technically complex work within active hospital environments.This role will function as an owner‑side project manager, representing VUMC in the oversight and governance of assigned projects.The Senior PM will work closely with general contractors, architects, engineers, and internal hospital stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.The engagement is expected to last approximately 12 months, with the potential to extend up to 18 months, and is designed to immediately add Senior‑level expertise to an already lean, highly experienced team.Healthcare Construction Oversight: Manage complex healthcare construction in active hospital environments, ensuring compliance with infection control, life safety, and operational constraints.Project Governance & Coordination: Oversee GCs, architects, and engineers with accountability for scope, schedule, quality, and risk—without direct construction execution.PM Team Support: Independently lead smaller projects or support existing PMs with execution, documentation, and issue resolution.Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between construction teams and internal hospital stakeholders to align clinical, operational, and project needs.Risk Identification: Proactively identify and escalate schedule, scope, or compliance risks to prevent downstream impacts.Daily Responsibilities Manage multiple construction projects across varying scopesCoordinate with GCs, architects, and engineering teamsTrack schedules and deliverables using Kahua or similar toolsReview drawings and documentation to identify risks or gapsEnsure compliance with healthcare and company standardsProvide clear status updates and maintain strong documentationSize, Scope & ImpactPortfolio: ~100 active projects supported by a ~30‑person PDC teamProject Types: New builds, major renovations, complex clinical workImpact: Adds Senior oversight to reduce risk, protect patient safety, and keep high‑visibility projects on track in a highly regulated environmentSkillsProject management, Pmp, Stakeholder management, Infrastructure, Project plan, Program management, Implementation, Project coordination, Resource planning, ConstructionAdditional Skills & QualificationsAdditional Skills & Qualifications (Condensed)Education & Certifications (Preferred):Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferredEquivalent field experience acceptedPMP, CCM, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus, not requiredHealthcare & Institutional Experience:Experience working in active healthcare environmentsFamiliarity with:Infection control (ICRA)Shutdown coordination (clinical spaces, utilities)Life safety / ILSM requirementsExperience in hospitals, academic medical centers, or large institutional campuses strongly preferredUniversity or lab construction acceptable if healthcare experience is limitedConstruction Tools & Systems:Experience with construction PM platforms (Kahua, Procore, e‑Builder, or similar)Ability to quickly adapt to internal systems and reporting standardsDesign & Technical Literacy:Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawingsComfortable managing design‑to‑construction transitionsProfessional Attributes:Strong owner‑rep mindset (oversight and accountability, not execution)Professional communicator with contractors, designers, and hospital leadershipIndependent, sound judgment, and strong documentation habitsWork Style:Comfortable working onsite five days per weekAble to ramp quickly into a complex project portfolioJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
