The CNC Machinist will set up and operate Mori-Seki/Hwacheon (Fanuc) CNC single/multi spindle Lathes and/or Mills and will be responsible for running production on multiple machines. The CNC machinist will also operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The machinist will load parts in the machine, cycle machines and detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. This position communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. Requirements/Job Duties: · CNC Programming and Set-Up · Perform all assigned machine shop operations · Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee. (i.e., tool wear, surface finish, and foreign object debris) · Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed · Complete and maintain paperwork for parts. · Performs all assigned machine shop operations. · Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results. · Interact with quality to resolve any quality issues within the department · Use micrometers & calibers · Thorough knowledge of all types of tooling and materials · Meet ongoing production quotas while working within very close tolerances in a machine-shop production environment · Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, and sand blasting tasks. · Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, without rejection, in a fast-paced work environment · Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Operation or Production Managers. Qualifications: · Mathematical Skills · Mechanical and Technical Capacity · Time Management skills · Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly preferred. · Ability to lift and carry heavy objects · Basic understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes. · Strong attention to detail and qualify · Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment · Standing for long periods · Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) · U.S. Citizen.
