Staff Accountant - Growing Private Investment & Asset Management Group in Atlanta Starting salary: $75,000 Our client, a dynamic private investment and asset management group, is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their expanding team. This is a newly created role, driven by the company's consistent growth across real estate development, property acquisitions, construction, leasing, underwriting, valuation, and institutional investment banking. As a Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in the company's core accounting function, assisting with month-end close, cash management, payables, reconciliations, and investor reporting. This role offers hands-on exposure to complex real estate and investment accounting and provides an opportunity to partner with experienced Controllers and senior leaders. What You'll Do as a Staff Accountant: Collaborate with the Assistant Fund Controller, Accounts Payable, and Treasury teams to support daily accounting operations. Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice imports and responding to vendor inquiries. Assist with construction loan draw submissions and related reporting. Record banking and investor transactions accurately within the accounting period. Complete timely reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly support schedules. Support the Fund Controllers with preparation and upload of financial statements. Participate in year-end audit and tax preparation. Contribute to special projects that enhance processes and drive efficiency. What We're Looking For in a Staff Accountant: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Between one-two years of professional accounting experience required. Solid understanding of accounting theory and practices. Experience in real estate accounting a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Yardi preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
