Senior Fund Accountant

Senior Fund Accountant Pittsburgh, PA $80,000-$100,000 Our client, a well-established and expanding financial services firm, is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with fund experience to play a hands-on role in the financial reporting and operations of private equity, hedge, or venture capital funds. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Fund Accountant Role: Prepare and review financial statements for investment funds in compliance with U.S. GAAP. The Senior Fund Accountant will maintain accurate general ledgers, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Calculate and process capital calls and distributions. Allocate income, expenses, and realized/unrealized gains or losses to investors. Reconcile cash accounts, investment activity, and fund-level transactions. The Senior Fund Accountant will assist with audits, tax reporting, and investor deliverables on a quarterly and annual basis. Partner with administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance. Research technical accounting issues and monitor changes in industry standards and regulations. Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Fund Accountant Role: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. 1-4 years of experience in fund accounting; background in public accounting or a fund administrator is a plus. Solid knowledge of partnership accounting and investment structures. Strong understanding of GAAP reporting; experience with fair value accounting preferred. Advanced Excel skills; exposure to fund accounting platforms such as Investran or eFront a plus. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. CPA license or progress toward certification is desirable.
