Start-up/Commissioning Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient, and successful start-up and commissioning of new plant systems and upgrades. This role is critical to bringing new recycling lines online, ensuring operational readiness, and delivering high-performance outcomes in a fast-paced, innovative-driven environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience commissioning industrial or chemical process facilities, particularly those involving polymers, petrochemicals, or advanced recycling technologies. Key Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of start-up and commissioning efforts for new process units, utilities, and support systems at the Nexus Circular recycling plant with a primary focus on mechanical installations. Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and safety teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction to steady-state operations. Assist the Advance Project Manager with the development of a detailed commissioning plan, schedules checklist, and turnover package. Manage and execute commissioning and functional performance testing procedures with a primary focus on Mechanical system installations. Oversee start-up sequencing, equipment energization, leak checks, dry runs, and hot commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with process safety, environmental, and company standards throughout commissioning. Troubleshoot system performance issues and coordinate resolution with engineering. operations & maintenance, and OEM vendors. Assist with developing a plant operator and maintenance staff user training around newly commissioned systems and equipment. Document as-built conditions, punch-list items, and lessons learned for continuous improvement. Provide clear daily communication to leadership on progress, risks, and readiness milestones. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in start-up and commissioning in industrial manufacturing, petrochemical, or advanced recycling settings Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and process systems Experience with DCS/PLC control systems and plant instrumentation Demonstrated leadership in managing field teams during commissioning Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills trong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience in plastics recycling, polymer processing, or chemical manufacturing Familiarity with PSSR, MOC, and P&ID walkdowns Knowledge of commissioning software/tools and best practices (e.g., Completion Management Systems)
