About the Company Working as an Employee Specialist Our client is a major New York City nonprofit providing housing and supportive services for vulnerable populations. For over 20 years, they have helped thousands of individuals and families secure safe, stable housing and build skills for independence across 30+ locations with 500+ staff. Key Responsibilities of the Employee Relations Specialist Serve as the primary contact for employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution. Advise managers on policy interpretation, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Track, document, and report employee relations cases to ensure compliance with laws and policies. Support training on workplace conduct, diversity, and employee engagement initiatives. Partner with HR leadership to improve workplace culture and retention strategies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent HR/business experience. 2-4 years' experience in employee relations, HR generalist, or similar role. Knowledge of employment laws, investigation best practices, and conflict resolution techniques. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with high confidentiality.
