If you are interested in this Provider Coding Education Specialist position, please contact Austin Faris at 586-710-7941 or afaris@ Provider Coding Education Specialist Compensation The pay for this position is $24.50 per hour Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates Provider Coding Education Specialist Highlights This position is a 13-week contract assignment with potential to convert to permanent based on performance and business needs Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (flexible, may adjust to 7:00am-3:00pm as needed) Role is primarily remote but requires occasional travel within the Henry Ford Health market areas in Michigan Must be located within 1 hour of Troy, MI or willing to travel as needed Occasional morning or evening meetings may be required to accommodate provider schedules Provider Coding Education Specialist Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee provider education and medical record coding to ensure accurate billing and regulatory compliance Guide providers and coding staff on documentation and coding best practices, including ICD-10CM, CPT, HCC, NCCI Edits, and compliance standards Develop and implement education plans to improve documentation quality, completeness, and accuracy across hospital and ambulatory sites Provide one-on-one or group training sessions (virtual and in-person) to providers and staff Match clinical documentation to services provided, ensuring alignment with coding and billing requirements Serve as a subject matter expert in anatomy, physiology, coding systems, and healthcare documentation Provider Coding Education Specialist Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Medical Record Sciences, or Business/Healthcare Administration preferred (may substitute with 4 years coding experience) Minimum of 3 years of experience in documentation improvement, coding, CDI, compliance, or billing for hospital/physician services Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required Must have thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a passion for education and training High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Access; data analytics experience preferred Ability to travel occasionally within Michigan Provider Coding Education Specialist Certifications (Required) At least one of the following: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA If you think this Provider Coding Education Specialist position is a good fit for you, please reach out to me - feel free to call, e-mail, or apply to this posting!
