Real Estate Representative I Contract Duration:  Through 09/30/2027 (High potential for extension) Work Location:  Norton Shores, MI, 49441 Travel Requirement: Travel may be required for site visits and public meetings. Position Overview: CMS Energy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Representative I to support real estate and right-of-way activities for utility infrastructure projects. This role involves working directly with private landowners and governmental agencies to negotiate and secure land rights necessary for construction, operations, and maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities: Negotiate with private landowners and government entities to acquire land rights such as easements, leases, fee simple titles, licenses, permits, and temporary workspace agreements. Conduct due diligence to ensure the accuracy and completeness of land rights documentation; identify and resolve deficiencies. Serve as a liaison between the company and landowners/tenants regarding ownership, access, damage claims, and easement rights. Represent CMS Energy in public forums and meetings with governmental bodies including zoning boards, townships, and county commissions. Utilize internal systems, policies, and procedures to manage documentation and workflow. Interpret and analyze engineering and construction drawings, surveys, title reports, and other land records. Required Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the Right-of-Way or Real Estate industry. At least 1 year of direct experience acquiring land rights. Skills: Proficiency in land title research and settlement documentation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, legal land descriptions, and survey documents. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
