Interim Controller

This is more than just numbers; your work as an Interim Controller will help support programs, events, and initiatives that touch lives every day. Position will be on-site daily in Brooklyn, NY. Parking available. Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain nonprofit books, including endowments Manage monthly close (approx. 2 weeks), ensuring proper journal entries and internal controls Review reconciliations, reports, payments, and payroll summaries for accuracy Provide indirect oversight to two accounting staff and support team continuity Prepare for annual audit in January and coordinate audit deliverables Ensure smooth transfer of knowledge and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards Experience Preferred 10+ years of experience Prior nonprofit knowledge a must Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Pay Rate: $60-80/hr commensurate with experience #INSEPT2025
