Stockroom The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of inventory materials. This role supports production by ensuring timely availability of materials and maintaining organized stockroom operations. The SRC plays a critical part in reducing production downtime, improving inventory accuracy, and enhancing overall material flow. Primary Responsibilities Receiving and Storing Materials Receive materials into the stockroom using appropriate receiving transactions. Verify part quantities, conditions, and arrival times. Ensure inventory items are correctly labeled and stored with barcodes for easy identification. Free up QC staff from storing duties by handling material put-aways. Inventory Management Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records. Update inventory systems and reports (SOL, VM list, Open Jobs, Planning List) in real-time. Investigate inventory discrepancies and ensure proper documentation and sign-outs. Kitting and Material Distribution Kit all job types including: Payable Jobs (Welding & Spare Parts) VM In-House Jobs & Vendor Kits Sales Orders Maintain and update VM job lists; generate job travelers and organize kits in OZs. For payable jobs, prioritize sending fabrication parts to welders promptly. Pre-kit spare part jobs two weeks prior to shipping to allow procurement to resolve shortages and reduce shelf clutter. Ensure outgoing Sales Orders are verified by a second set of eyes for accuracy. Internal Stock Requests Serve as the primary point of contact for any internal requests for stock parts. Log part issuance properly, investigate recurring issues (e.g., BOM errors, incorrect kitting, welding mismatches). Special Material Handling Coordinate reels of flex hose for annealing. Print purchase orders and discs for material traceability and compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications Basic math and counting accuracy. Familiarity with inventory software and simple computer transactions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good communication skills to collaborate with departments such as QC, Procurement, Production, and Welding. Benefits of This Role Improves organization and operational flow within the stockroom.
