Associate Chief of Financial Planning Reports to: CFO Location: NY or CT, 2 days a week onsite Standard work hours: 8a-5p Salary: $170k Why This Opportunity? Generous PTO Structure : Two weeks off during Winter Break when the entire organization shuts down, plus 20 PTO days, & paid holidays Multi-State Presence : Serving communities across Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York Impactful Mission : Mission oriented organization serving a wide population Collaborative FP&A Team : Small, focused team of 3-4 professionals Hybrid Work Schedule : Two days per week in-office for flexibility and balance Career Growth : Strong internal mobility and advancement opportunities Responsibilities of the Associate Chief of Financial Planning: Responsible for overall strategy and execution of annual budgeting and forecasting work including clear communication in partnership with CFO and key school based and network wide leadership. Provide driver-based analysis and forecasts with clear recommendations to inform senior leadership and Board decisions. Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable narratives, including and one-page memos with clear "so what/now what," named owners, and timelines for diverse audiences including boards, executives, and school leaders. Supervise the personnel and functions of the budgeting and forecasting team, including the annual goal-setting and performance management processes and systems. Own multi-year financial planning and scenario modeling that informs growth decisions (school openings/closures, capital projects, talent investments, etc...). Provide strategic recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership based on risk/opportunity analyses. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration within the finance department Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational efficiency, using data to drive improvements. Apply sound judgment in interpreting and implementing financial policies, balancing compliance requirements with the practical needs. Preferred experience of Associate Chief of Financial Planning: Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.S., etc.) in accounting, finance or related field required; CPA/MBA/CFA preferred 7+ years in progressively senior financial leadership roles at large, complex organizations, (e.g., FP&A manager, Director of Finance) Expert in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, with advanced skills in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Adaptive, Tableau). A track record of turning analysis into adopted decisions at the executive level Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and challenges, and driving sustainable financial outcomes. Exceptional communication skills, with ability to translate complex financials into simple, actionable insights for diverse audiences. Skilled in coaching high-performing teams, cultivating transparency, accountability, and professional growth. Track record of managing systems and process change. Direct experience building driver-based models and scenario/sensitivity analyses that improved forecast accuracy and informed resource reallocation. #INSEP2025
