Patient Collections Representative (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Remote (East Coast preferred) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST Pay Rate: $17.00/hour Position Summary A leading medical device company is seeking a Patient Collections Representative (Contract-to-Hire) to join their team. This role is responsible for reviewing open patient balances, collecting payments through outbound calls, assisting patients with billing inquiries, and ensuring accuracy in patient account records. The ideal candidate will bring experience in patient collections within the medical industry and strong communication skills. Key Responsibilities Review patient account balances and make outbound calls to collect payments or set up payment plans. Respond to inbound patient calls and address billing inquiries. Investigate discrepancies in patient insurance and communicate findings to the Accounts Receivable (AR) team. Accurately document all patient account actions, billing statuses, and communications. Apply knowledge of Medicare guidelines and payer requirements to collections processes. Recognize trends in patient billing and escalate potential issues to leadership. Handle patient correspondence and ensure timely resolution of inquiries. Maintain production and quality standards set by the department. Support a positive team environment aligned with company values. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Minimum of 1 year of outbound patient collections experience in the medical industry. Skills & Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor with the ability to de-escalate difficult conversations. Working knowledge of insurance EOBs and denial reasoning. Strong data entry and system navigation skills with attention to accuracy. Effective collaboration and communication with peers and leadership. Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively. Intermediate math and Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with call center telecommunications software, including outbound dialer tools. Ability to coach, mentor, and support new Patient Collections team members. Why Join?
