Vice President of Finance (Hybrid - Naperville, IL) Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 + 10% Bonus An established and mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join its senior leadership team. The organization delivers high-quality, affordable healthcare to thousands of patients across the western suburbs of Chicago through its network of community health centers, home care, and hospice services. With national recognition for exceeding quality standards, this nonprofit provides a collaborative, patient-focused environment where finance leaders can make a true impact. The Role The Vice President of Finance will oversee all accounting and finance functions, managing a team of six (including senior accountant, staff accountants, grants accountant, AP, and payroll). Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position is highly visible within leadership and the board. The Vice President of Finance will take a hands-on approach-leading day-to-day operations while also guiding long-term strategy. You'll be responsible for grants management, compliance, and financial reporting while ensuring the department operates with accuracy, timeliness, and integrity. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a six-person accounting and finance team. Oversee grants management and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Manage financial reporting, audits, and budget preparation. Maintain and improve financial systems (NetSuite, with some legacy Sage). Partner with senior leadership and the board on financial strategy and planning. Serve as a potential successor for the CFO role. What We're Looking For in a Vice President of Finance CPA required 5+ years of management experience Background in healthcare or nonprofit sector required Strong experience with grants required Hands-on leader-comfortable being "in the weeds" when needed Growth-minded professional eager to bring new ideas and modern practices Why Join?
