Full Charge Bookkeeper - Nonprofit Organization A small, mission-driven nonprofit organization in Norwalk is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function. This individual will be the go-to person for all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in support of the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger Oversee bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and cash management Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with annual budgets Maintain accurate records for grants, donations, and restricted funds Support external accountants during annual audit or year-end close Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal policies Provide financial reporting and updates to leadership and the board as needed Qualifications 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience; nonprofit experience strongly preferred Proficiency with QuickBooks (desktop or online) required Solid understanding of GAAP and fund accounting concepts Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a small office Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with staff and board members Compensation $28 - $32/hour depending on experience Part-time schedule available, with some flexibility Why This Role?
