Payroll Specialist - Gaithersburg, MD Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 | In-Office (Hybrid: 1 WFH day per week) We are working with a well-established company in the Gaithersburg, MD area that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a full-time, in-office role (with flexibility to work from home one day per week after training period). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with payroll processing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys handling both payroll and employee administration functions. Key Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly payroll in the company's HRMS and Sage300 (Timberline) Review and reconcile employee timesheets; coordinate corrections with staff Upload payroll files to the bank for direct deposit; prepare and distribute paychecks and stubs Prepare and file payroll tax deposits and returns (federal, state, unemployment) Manage certified payroll reporting and benefit reconciliations Process garnishments, union dues, and fringe benefit payments Maintain employee records, new hires, terminations, and benefit changes in Sage300 (Timberline) Run PTO accruals, upload pay stubs, and manage personnel administration Support audits, employment verifications, and compliance reporting Provide payroll reporting to management for review and approval Qualifications: 3+ years of payroll processing experience (construction or union payroll experience a plus) Proficiency in Sage300 (Timberline) highly preferred Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and reporting Ability to manage confidential information with integrity Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Compensation & Benefits: Competitive base salary: $65,000 - $80,000 (depending on experience) Employer-sponsored health and life insurance Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays 401(k) retirement plan Tuition assistance, company training, and professional development opportunities Additional perks: maternity/paternity leave, jury duty leave, incentive bonuses #LI-BK1 #INSEPT2025 #ZRCFS
