Fiduciary Accountant

Fiduciary Accountant | On-Site - NYC CFS is working with a top-tier international law firm to help expand their estate and trust accounting team with a Fiduciary Accountant. This is a highly visible role within a specialized group, offering exposure to complex fiduciary work, federal and state tax filing, and estate and gift tax planning. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with any level of experience in fiduciary accounting or trust/estate tax work to join a firm known for excellence, resources, and long-term career support. What You'll Do: Prepare and file Form 1041 (federal/state fiduciary income tax) and Form 706 (federal estate tax) returns. Compile and reconcile estate and trust accountings for Surrogate's Court filings. Support gift and estate tax planning, including QPRTs, GRATs, CRATs, and CLUTs. Respond to IRS and NYS audit inquiries. Maintain trust and estate records and collaborate directly with attorneys on tax-sensitive matters. Assist with informational returns for tax-exempt entities. What We're Looking For: Experience with fiduciary accounting, Form 1041/706 prep, or trust/estate court accountings. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax required. Familiarity with OMEGA and Wolters Kluwer ProSystem fx a plus. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. Confident communicator who can work independently and cross-functionally. Experience in legal, wealth management, or estate practice environments preferred. Compensation & Benefits: Discretionary performance-based bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
