Key Responsibilities: Lead property tax compliance, overseeing preparation, review, and timely filing of complex state and local tax returns. Independently review, audit, and validate valuations and assessments, recommending strategies to minimize tax exposure. Prepare and analyze valuation data to support assessment settlement hearings and negotiate with taxing authorities. Drive monthly and quarterly variance analysis, ensuring accurate property tax forecasting and accruals. Lead preparation and review of reconciliations for property tax accounts at month-end and quarter-end. Partner with tax leadership on planning initiatives related to acquisitions, divestitures, and capital projects. Assist in preparation and review of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rate case schedules and supporting documentation. Mentor and support junior analysts, providing guidance on compliance, valuation, and reporting processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of property tax, state/local tax, or related accounting experience, preferably within oil & gas, energy, or large corporate environments. Proven expertise in valuation analysis, tax compliance, and reconciliation of property tax accounts. Experience with FERC reporting strongly preferred. Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Access, PowerPlan. Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
