A logistics company with offices in NY and NJ is looking to fill a position for an Accounts Receivable Supervisor JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Supervisor SUMMARY: Manages and coordinates the accounts receivable department and performs accounts receivable functions and reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Controls and monitors payments to outstanding invoices in a timely manner. ? Monitors and maintains accounts receivable aging and reporting to Management team on a weekly basis. ? Manages team on accounts receivable process through correspondence and collection calls as needed. ? Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounts receivable staff; manages schedules and workflow. ? Creates and implements department strategic planning for cashflow commitments. ? Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. ? Understanding of customer invoices and reconciles customer accounts with sales and pricing team. ? Retrieves credit reports and assists with review of customer credit issues. ? Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. ? Assists with related special projects and reporting as needed. ? Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Directly supervises a team of 2 employees within the accounting department. ? Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. ? Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting or finance or two to four years related experience in the forwarding business. ? Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates. ? SAP is a plus, but not required. ? Proficient on Microsoft excel is required for this position. ? Commitment to excellence and high standards. ? Acute attention to detail. ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ? Ability to work with all levels of management. ? Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. ? Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions ? Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees. ? Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method. ? Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. COMPETENCIES: ?
