Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Location: Fully On-Site | Southern Litchfield County Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (35-hour work week) Salary: Up to $150,000 + Comp Time for Evening Meetings (dependent on experience) About Our Client: Our client is a well-regarded Connecticut town with a reputation for stability, fiscal responsibility, and strong community values. Key Responsibilities of the CFO: Oversee all accounting, budgeting, and fiscal service functions for the town. Lead the full budgeting process from start to finish. Serve as Treasurer for town trust funds and manage cash flow, investments, and debt. Ensure accurate general ledger accounts and maintain compliance with GAAP and GASB standards. Prepare financial reports for boards, auditors, and state/federal agencies. Direct and coordinate debt management functions, including financial analysis and long-range planning. Supervise Fiscal Office staff, ensuring professional development and accountability. Support IT and financial systems, including oversight of purchases and contracts. Qualifications for the CFO: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA strongly preferred but not required. Prior experience as a CFO, Comptroller, or similar senior financial leadership role. Municipal experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental financial reporting. Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
