VMWare System Engineer (On-Site - Hybrid) - Boston, MA Are you a skilled System Engineer looking for a challenging role where you can make a real impact? If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are ready to take ownership of critical systems, this could be your next great move! Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000/year What Does This Job Do? As a Support System Administrator, you'll be instrumental in keeping core IT infrastructure running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include: Take charge of the VMware Horizon environment, including "gold image" maintenance and desktop pool administration to ensure seamless user access Implement and manage robust backup solutions (Veeam preferred) , overseeing backup schedules, configurations, and recovery processes to safeguard critical data Handle day-to-day operations for Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) , including Active Directory (user accounts, permissions, group policies, DNS, DHCP) Resolve complex technical issues, going beyond basic helpdesk support to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions for PC and system problems Assist with essential system upgrades, application management for remote users, and maintain strong security controls across the IT environment Work closely with the IT Director and other team members, contributing to special projects and providing backup support as needed What Are The Qualifications? We're looking for someone with a few years of solid, hands-on experience in a similar role. Specifically, you should have: 2-5+ years of experience administering and supporting IT systems Proven expertise with VMware Horizon and ESX virtualization Strong command of Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) In-depth knowledge of Active Directory administration (user accounts, group policies, DNS, DHCP) Experience with backup and data protection methodologies , with Veeam experience being a significant plus Familiarity with Windows 11, Microsoft Purview & Azure is a bonus Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical information to all levels of staff The ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (3 days in-office minimum in Boston, MA) Ready to advance your IT career?
