Accountant

Job Title: Accountant Location: Walker, MI Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM Work Environment: Fully onsite Key Responsibilities 1. Cash Flow Management Reconcile cash and credit card bank accounts Conduct cash flow analysis Oversee online banking and maintain the bank relationship 2. Financial Analysis & Reporting Track expenses and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare journal entries Create balance sheets and income statements for month, quarter, and year-end 3. Accounting Manage year-end inventory (fiscal year ends in September) Proof and post customer service invoices Handle AP: Match inventory invoices, enter them into the system, ensure timely payments, and prepare tax returns (monthly/annual 1099s) Manage AR: Enter cash receipts, collaborate with the sales manager to establish credit accounts, and collect past-due accounts Prepare audit schedules 4. Payroll & HR Process bi-weekly payroll for 15 employees Submit EFTPS payroll tax payments Prepare quarterly 941 filings and annual W-2s Assist with onboarding and benefits administration (insurance and 401(k)) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance OR 2-5 years of accounting experience Hands-on, motivated, and able to work independently A desire for long-term growth (this role will transition into a senior position as a key team member retires) Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing Familiarity with Sage 100
