Process Development Engineer

OVERVIEW: The Process Development Engineer role is to support new business introduction and process optimization. The Process Development Engineer is responsible for product scale up from R&D to pilot, and full-scale production. Will also lead process optimization and capacity creating efforts in the plant. This requires close coordination with R&D, Operations, and Engineering to ensure that new products and optimization projects meet rigorous organizational Safety requirements as well as customer needs and timelines. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop operating parameters for new products through coordination across functions including R&D, Commercial, Operations, and EHSS. Convert R&D technical documents into Pilot and Plant operating procedures. Manage process documentation including PFD's, P&ID's, automation wiring diagrams, and bills of materials. Work with Operations to identify and capture opportunities for process improvement (safety, quality, cycle time, yield). Lead process improvement efforts. Manage small projects as needed to support new product introduction and optimization efforts. Ensure introduction/improvement efforts are coordinated with functional areas across the organization, in accordance with site procedures and historical standards.
