About the Company I have partnered with a family-owned regional business with a proud history of serving our community and customers with integrity and dedication. As they continue to grow and due to a recent retirement, they are seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations and guide the company toward long-term success while honoring their family values and commitment to employees. Position Summary The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for managing all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance. This role requires both strategic vision and a roll-up-the-sleeves approach, with an emphasis on driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of a family-run enterprise. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and banking. Develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies aligned with business goals. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, forecasts, and management reports. Manage cash flow, financing needs, and capital investments to support business operations and growth. Partner with ownership and leadership team on business planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting systems, and processes. Supervise and develop accounting/finance staff (if applicable). Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, balancing business performance with the values of a family-owned organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized, privately held or family-owned business. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across the organization. Experience with financial systems and reporting tools. Hands-on, collaborative, and adaptable approach suited to a close-knit, entrepreneurial environment. Why Consider This Role?
