This role plays a critical part in managing denials, claims processing, and aging accounts receivable (A/R), while driving performance and ensuring compliance in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee the denial management process, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of denied claims. Track and analyze denial trends; develop reports and metrics to inform strategy and performance. Collaborate with payers and internal teams to manage appeals and improve claim outcomes. Lead the collection of outstanding receivables and implement strategies to reduce aging A/R. Audit A/R reports regularly for accuracy, identifying and addressing high-risk accounts. Monitor and enhance all phases of the revenue cycle to improve reimbursement and operational efficiency. Analyze revenue cycle data to recommend and implement process improvements. Work cross-functionally with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to ensure proper coding and documentation. Partner with IT to support billing system optimization and ensure compliance with coding standards. Prepare and present performance reports to leadership on A/R aging, denials, and collections. Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, especially those governing FQHC billing and reimbursement. Train and support billing and coding staff on claims resolution, denials, and appeals best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5-7 years of experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare or FQHC setting Proven expertise in claims processing, denial resolution, and A/R management Deep understanding of FQHC billing practices and payer requirements, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance Strong knowledge of medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and billing regulations Interested in hearing more?
