Grant Program Director I - New Energy New York SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a full-time, temporary, Grant Program Director I for Workforce Development. This grant-funded position reports to the Director of Workforce Development. This position is expected to continue through 12/31/26 or later, and is contingent upon the availability of grant funding. The Grant Program Director I (Director) will lead SUNY Broome's participation in the New Energy New York (NENY) Workforce Development project. Grant activities will focus primarily on the training needs of the growing battery development and manufacturing industry cluster in upstate New York's Southern Tier. The Director is responsible for expanding existing and deploying new training programs while developing strategies to overcome barriers to training and labor force participation. In addition to coordinating the development of clean-energy curricula via in-person, virtual synchronous, and virtual asynchronous instructional formats, SUNY Broome will provide additional support for employers to create high quality, work-based learning opportunities such as co-ops, internships, apprenticeships and internal training programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Confirms the program objectives with the designated administrator and Sponsored Programs Office and develop an outline to meet the project's objectives. Monitors progress of involved parties to assure objectives are achieved, including determining a method for evaluating the project and completing the evaluation process. Coordinate with businesses working in clean-energy storage and related supply chain areas (advanced manufacturing and warehousing) to develop appropriate training programs. Manage training programs for unemployed and under-skilled individuals, including identifying instructors and evaluating the programs. Works with the Director of Training, Education, and Workforce Development to coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive marketing program to promote the non-credit and micro-credential programs related to clean-energy storage. Coordinate with Career Services and area businesses to develop high quality, work-based learning opportunities. Participate in New Energy New York (NENY) Workforce Development related activities and ensure compliance to grant directives and prepare detailed reports and maintain records relating to the NENY project. Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.  A Master's Degree is preferred. Three (3) years of related work experience is required. Preference given to those with experience in workforce development, marketing or project management. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship. Additional Information: The minimum salary for this position is $62,147. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
