Construction Accounting Clerk Pittsburgh, PA (Southern Suburbs) $55,000-$65,000 We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Clerk. This role plays a vital part in supporting construction accounting functions through accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and AIA billing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable handling multiple priorities across different projects. OVERVIEW OF THE CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTING CLERK ROLE: Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payments. Prepare and submit AIA billing (G702/G703) and progress payment applications. Assist with accounts receivable functions, including preparing invoices, tracking collections, and reconciling payments. Maintain vendor files, contracts, lien waivers, and other supporting documentation. Reconcile job cost reports and assist with project-related accounting tasks. Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. Respond to inquiries from project managers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding billing and payments. Assist the accounting team with ad hoc projects and administrative support as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTING CLERK: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (construction industry experience a plus). Familiarity with AIA billing (G702/G703) strongly preferred. Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
