Job Details Responsibilities: Lead a team of application developers to design, develop, and implement mainframe applications related to the insurance industry. Oversee the entire application development process, from conceptualization to final product delivery. Collaborate with various business units to understand their needs and develop appropriate technical solutions. Ensure the alignment of the application development strategy with the overall IT and business strategy. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements, and implement new technologies and methodologies as appropriate. Ensure the adherence to quality standards and best practices in application development. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as necessary. Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with a focus on mainframe applications. Extensive experience in the insurance industry, specifically in annuities, life insurance, and insurance administration. Strong knowledge of the insurance domain and related regulatory requirements. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
