Plant Mechanic

Plant Mechanic The Plant Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. Essential job duties include maintenance and repairs on valves, pumps, fans, motors, boilers, chillers and other plant equipment. Performing maintenance, repairs and calibrations on control system equipment. Performs inspection rounds on equipment and records system readings such as flow, pressures and temperatures. Demonstrates leadership and versatility in the application and coordination of technical workflow. Maintains Mechanical Rooms. Maintaining effective communications with team members, Floor Mechanics and Supervisors to ensure prompt response to requests for repairs. This is a full time day shift position, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center. Require Criteria High School Diploma or GED Five to seven years of plant experience Must be available for weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, emergencies and scheduled work/outages Must adhere to and follow shift coverage procedures FDNY A-35 Air Compressors within 6 months of hire FDNY P-98 Fuel Oil Piping and Bulk Storage within 6 months of hire FDNY F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations within 6 months of hire FDNY G-60 Torch Use of Flammable Gas within 6 months of hire Preferred Criteria FDNY G-29 Compressed Flammable Gases FDNY C-99 Compressed Natural Gas Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
