Site Reliability Engineer

Overview At Criteo we face challenging problems in the IT industry at scale. Our data is large and our systems require speed and complexity handling. SREs develop, maintain and operate software that automates the traditional roles of the system administrator. Responsibilities Build systems that make fast decisions, millions of times per second across three continents and 15 datacenters, 24/7. Store and process tens of terabytes of data per hour using a large Hadoop cluster; continuously improve while keeping the lights on. Deliver results: a partially solved problem today is better than a perfect solution next year; rapid iteration from idea to deployment. Manage high-stakes performance: small improvements can have large business impact; ensure reliability for the Internet-scale user base. Develop open source projects and contribute back to the community; work at the forefront of technology. Collaborate with engineering leadership to develop long-term roadmaps and architectures to scale infrastructure and improve SLA. Strong candidate qualifications Reliability - Apply rigorous thinking to design for resilience, monitoring and high availability. Scalability - Experience with large-scale systems requiring high throughput and millisecond response times. Flexibility - Adapt quickly to new technologies; engineers choose the best tool for the job. Curiosity - Enjoy tinkering with Linux, networks and distributed systems; pursue personal projects.
