Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Air Vehicle Architect (Consulting Engineer) to join our diverse team of professionals. This engineering leadership position will be within our Vehicle Engineering organization and will be located onsite in Palmdale, El Segundo, or Rancho Bernardo, CA. This Enterprise Level position will report to the Enterprise System Architect in the Chief Engineer's office. The selected candidate will act as the primary point of contact for the Chief Engineer and System Architect, leading efforts to resolve critical engineering challenges. This role requires a strong capacity to comprehend, analyze, and resolve diverse issues. The candidate must excel in teamwork, foster collaboration, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills, as they will be interacting with enterprise leadership, customer representatives, and junior engineering teams. The selected candidate will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Vehicle Engineering. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Review and provide input on material presented at enterprise change boards to ensure material presented is correct and meets Vehicle Engineering requirements Lead the development/refinement of architectures to meet customer needs Support the Enterprise System Architect ensuring architectures are baselined and maintained Coordinate with the Engineering Functional Homeroom to ensure proper processes, tools, and training are implemented within the program The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. An occasional travel requirement up to 10% may be needed. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 16 years of related engineering experience to include a background in airframe structures, vehicle subsystems, flight sciences, or vehicle controls; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 14 years of related engineering experience to include a background in airframe structures, vehicle subsystems, flight sciences, or vehicle controls; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience to include a background in airframe structures, vehicle subsystems, flight sciences, or vehicle controls. Must have an active DoD Top Secret (with a background investigation completed within the last 5 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Current approved SAP to applicable program Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering Primary Level Salary Range: $206,900.00 - $310,300.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
