We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer in our San Francisco, CA office . As an Electrical Project Engineer , you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients, ensuring positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for buildings. This position works within the project's budget, and involves training, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Principal Responsibilities: Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects; lead planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring design progress related to percent complete and fee expended Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical solutions Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, and specifications; implement IMEG quality control processes to meet quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases Required Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts for producing technical plans and specifications Strong technical and analytical skills including circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings Proficient with industry-standard engineering software and tools (lighting photometric software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting; power system analysis/design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and Adobe or Bluebeam Revu) Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards Proficient with reference resources (NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, Facility Guideline Institute) Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software (eSPECS, BIM software) and Revit add-ins; familiarity with SET Tools within Revit for electrical calculations and coordination Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays Education and experience: Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required Professional Engineer (PE) License required 2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry This position is not eligible for Sponsorship State of California Salary Range $115,000.00 - $140,000.00. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
