Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Battery Systems Engineer to design and develop advanced, safety-critical battery systems for next-generation automotive and aerospace applications. This role combines deep technical expertise in high-voltage systems, electronics, and embedded platforms with the rigor of working in highly regulated environments. Engagement: Full-time OR Contract Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr Budget: For employees: $85k - $95k / year For contractors: $60 - $65 / hour Responsibilities Lead the design and integration of battery systems, including Battery Management Systems (BMS) and high-voltage architectures. Develop schematics, layouts, and PCBAs using industry-standard tools (Altium preferred). Implement microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGAs at both hardware and firmware levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system-level architecture, safety, and performance. Define, test, and validate designs in line with rigorous industry standards (automotive and aerospace). Document design processes, verification, and compliance according to industry frameworks. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across hardware, software, and system integration. Qualifications Proven experience as a systems or electronics engineer in the automotive or aerospace industry. Hands-on background in designing complex, safety-critical systems. Strong knowledge of Battery Management Systems and high-voltage system design. Proficiency in analog and digital electronics. Skilled in PCBA design tools; Altium Designer experience is a strong plus. Familiarity with embedded systems concepts, including software/firmware integration. Experience with DO-254, DO-160G, or comparable aerospace/automotive standards is highly advantageous. Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
