System Level Engineer

Overview Job Title: System-Level Engineer Location: Bay area, CA : Hybrid (Local Only) Job Type: Contract Job Summary: We are seeking highly skilled System-Level Engineers with strong hands-on experience in OS internals, kernel-level programming, and device driver development . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Go programming , cloud-native technologies (Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Anthos) , and automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet . This role is not intended for application-level developers. Only those with strong foundations and practical experience in low-level systems engineering will be considered. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain system-level software, including device drivers , kernel modules , and OS-level components. Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build scalable, resilient systems. Build and maintain infrastructure using Kubernetes and Anthos . Automate system configurations and deployments using Ansible and Puppet . Work closely with cloud infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of system components. Debug complex system-level issues across software/hardware boundaries. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in Go (Golang) for system-level development. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architecture. Deep understanding and working knowledge of Kubernetes and Anthos . Solid experience with Ansible and Puppet for automation and configuration management. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills at the system and kernel level. Ability to work in a highly collaborative and technically challenging environment. Nice to Have Experience in performance tuning and optimization of system-level code. Exposure to other low-level languages (C/C++) is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in a system-level development context. Screening Criteria Only System-Level Engineers will be considered.
