Job Description

Job Purpose: The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role assists in monitoring workplace conditions, conducting safety audits and inspections, facilitating training sessions, and promoting a culture of safety across all departments. The Safety Coordinator works closely with the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security team to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, helping to identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and drive proactive safety initiatives. Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborate with management to develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures. Manage safety programs to promote a safe and compliant working environment. Evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives and recommend improvements, as needed. Participate in the management of the existing Environmental, Safety and Health program, including performing audits and inspections, and suggest improvements for relevance, effectiveness and general management. Review OSHA and EPA, as well as other regulatory agency, policies to assist in compliance. Stop operations or activities that pose a risk to personnel or equipment. Identify opportunities through risk assessments to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health-related issues. Communicate environmental and safety information across all levels of the organization, as requested. Conduct safety training for all employees, including onboarding sessions for new hires. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and standards. Manage inventory of first aid kits, AEDs, PPE, eye wash stations, and spill mitigation supplies. Ensure monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and ensure annual inspections of fire protection systems. Collaborate with all Lucas Oil Products Inc. employees, including those at the Lucas Cattle Ranch, Lucas Oil Speedway, Family Estate, and Corporate Office, to document and maintain a safe work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 pounds, at times. Ability to walk throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, as required. Ability to stand for extended periods. Required Skills: Familiarity with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety and environmental standards (e.g., EPA, NFPA, ANSI). Risk assessment and hazard identification. Incident investigation and root cause analysis. Knowledge of safety management systems (SMS) and compliance tracking tools. Experience training large groups. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
