OVERVIEW & PURPOSE The Accounting Operations Specialist position performs a variety of essential accounting tasks to support the financial health of the organization. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional to manage daily financial transactions for accounts receivable, maintain accurate records for deposits, and assist the accounting team with various administrative duties. The position reports to the Controller. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Record and code incoming physical checks daily and scan deposits into banking portal. Process daily cash receipts, transfers and adjustments and apply those amounts to customer accounts. Perform daily reconciliation of cash application and identify any unapplied amounts and/or discrepancies. Communicate with the Collections team to help keep customer accounts current to avoid any past due collection efforts. Assist with compiling documentation to prepare commission calculation spreadsheets for month-end close processing. Input sales order information throughout the month for commission calculations and reporting. Support payroll processes by reviewing timecard hours and approvals. Assist in compiling any records required to complete payroll as directed by the  Accounting  team. Assist with special projects and other administrative tasks assigned by the  A ccounting  team. COMPETENCIES High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in accounting or a related field is often preferred. Experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is desired. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, vendors, and clients. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has no supervisory responsibilities. POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK NON-EXEMPT This is a full-time, on-site, position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. TRAVEL No travel is expected for this position.
