Network Engineer III Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. The Network Engineering function at Expedia Group falls within our Information Security & IT team. The Network Services Team supports Expedia Group's global eCommerce and corporate networks. We are seeking a high-performing individual contributor (primary focus corporate connectivity) who can apply new engineering principles to improve existing systems and is responsible for leading complex, pre-defined projects. In this role, you will: Bring together different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues, and contributes own suggestions Think holistically to identify opportunities around policies/ processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries Assist with a whole systems approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process, and technology) are identified and accounted for Investigate standard or routine issues or incidents and drafts concise, balanced, evidence-based reports on findings Conduct rigorous tests and inspections of products, services, solutions, or processes to evaluate quality or performance Analyze requirements and assists with the design of architecture Has a working knowledge of how the solutions using the technology impact the capacity requirements for same Research information, data, trends, and best practices in emerging technology and shares beneficial information with relevant stakeholders Minimum Requirements: 5+ years of experience in the Networking space Bachelors in IT or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience Proficient in installing, configuring, and managing enterprise-grade LAN, WAN, and wireless network hardware. Intermediate knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, MPBGP, ISIS) and SD-WAN solutions; skilled in evaluating WAN/ISP performance using network analysis tools. Skilled in firewall technologies and IPS/IDS (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, ZScaler); experienced with remote VPN solutions (e.g., Cisco AnyConnect, GlobalProtect). Proficient in LAN/dot.1x protocols and access control technologies (e.g., Cisco ISE). Familiar with platforms from major network vendors including Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, and ZScaler. Intermediate knowledge of SNMP, NetFlow, IPFIX, and modern telemetry protocols (Netconf, Restconf, gRPC); experience with monitoring platforms like DataDog. Strong analytical skills for identifying root causes; able to assess business impact and implement solutions based on best practices and industry trends. Preferred Requirements: Experienced in wireless predictive design and post-installation surveys using Ekahau; strong understanding of RF engineering and wireless troubleshooting. Basic to intermediate skills in automation languages such as Python The total cash range for this position in Austin is $116,500.00 to $163,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $186,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
