Medical Assessment Specialist

Job Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team in performing medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and conducting comprehensive assessments on each veteran. They will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal, documenting exam findings needed by the VA. It is essential to note that this is NOT a treating role. The specialist will only provide assessments, and the VA makes all disability determinations. The ideal candidate should be able to review and assess 3-4 Veterans per day on average, with a mixture of Face-to-face and Telehealth examinations. We are looking for professionals who: Are interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments vs. traditional patient care & treatment. Are proficient at finding key data points within large electronic medical records. Able to analyze data from the medical records and exam findings to complete the DBQ's and form medical opinions. Typing skills are essential. Skilled at time management, able to stay on task and meet requirements. Requirements include holding a current license as a Physiatrist and being Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R or Psychiatry and Neurology.
