We are seeking a dynamic and strategic to support their operations team and contribute to a workplace culture grounded in purpose, inclusion, and excellence.In this impactful role, the HRBP will act as a trusted advisor to the *Chief Operating Officer (COO)* and the broader operations team, while reporting directly to the *Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)*. Working closely with a fellow HRBP, this individual will play a critical role in aligning HR practices with business goals, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting organizational success. Each HRBP at Relay is strategically aligned with a member of the executive leadership team and functions as a dedicated consultant to assigned departments and business units"”delivering customized HR solutions to both leaders and staff.* *Location: *Portland, OR (Hybrid)* *Contract Duration: *6-month contract, with potential for extension or conversion based on performance and project work* *Compensation: *$40.00 - $55.00/hour, depending on experience (DOE)*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** Partner with the COO and operations leadership to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and team effectiveness.* Offer day-to-day HR support, including coaching, conflict resolution, and HR documentation.* Collaborate with the CHRO and peer HRBP to ensure HR practices reflect Relay's values and remain compliant with applicable regulations.* Support full-cycle HR processes including workforce planning, onboarding, and offboarding.* Lead or support cross-functional initiatives focused on DEIB, employee engagement, and cultural development.* Recommend and implement enhancements to HR processes, systems, and internal practices.* Manage aspects of leave administration, accommodations, and workplace policy implementation.*QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:** Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, but skills, sound judgment, and experience take precedence.* 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, performance coaching, and operational support.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build credibility and trust at all organizational levels.* Working knowledge of Oregon employment law and experience in nonprofit or mission-driven environments preferred.* Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues with discretion and empathy.* Proficiency in HRIS platforms (UKG Ready or similar strongly preferred).* Relevant HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required.* High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Asana, Salesforce, UKG, Loom, and other workplace applications.* Experience with NetSuite budgeting systems is a plus.* Strong executive-level presentation, public speaking, and written communication skills.* Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current insurance acceptable to Relay's insurance provider.*ABOUT RELAY RESOURCES*Our mission is to cultivate meaningful work for people with disabilities.
