They ensure all necessary documents are prepared accurately, coordinating with various parties involved including loan officers and title companies, guaranteeing compliance with regulations and investor overlays to successfully close and fund loans on time and within guidelines. They are responsible for hiring, training, and supervising their team while maintaining quality control throughout the closing process.The incumbent collaborates with other leaders in the Mortgage Department to facilitate clear communication regarding emerging trends and process improvements that align with the overall direction of the Mortgage Department. This role emphasizes a commitment to cultivating a high-performance culture and fostering the professional growth and development of the closing team, while providing excellent member service.Job DescriptionLOCATIONTanner Building - Hybrid:7167 S Center Park DriveWest Jordan, UT 84084SCHEDULEFull TimeTo be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.Hire, train, and lead a team of closing specialists, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching to ensure efficient operationsProvides leadership to mortgage loan closers through coaching, training, development and check ins.Meets with employees on a regular basis to monitor continuous improvements; this includes monthly one on ones, individual development plans and team meetingsCoordinates all aspects of the closing process including document preparation, title review and loan funding activitiesEnsure all loan files adhere to federal and state regulations, investor guidelines, and company policies throughout the closing process including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, UDSA and Housing Authorities.Respond to monthly audits, investor suspensions and correct any errors promptly and in a professional manner.Ensures team is compliant by following guidelines of RESPA, TILA, HMDA, CFPB and NCUA. Assist leadership with agency audits (CFPB, NCUA, HUD, etc.)Oversees the review closing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before loan funding.Works closely with mortgage training and the compliance team to assess development and training needs for individual employees as well as for the mortgage departmentAct as a liaison between involved parties and other stakeholders to address issues and facilitate smooth closingsMonitor and track loan pipelines to identify potential delays and ensure timely closingsCreates and maintains monthly reports (closer report cards/board reports, etc.) to monitor productivity levels, Key Performance Indicators, internal survey results, suspense items, post-closing audit results, tolerance cures and file qualityAssists to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the closing process, including title discrepancies, document errors, or missing information. Resolve member-related issues in a timely and professional manner, collaborating with all team members involved while meeting regulatory and investor guidelinesProvides excellent customer service to all parties involved in the closing process.Lead by example and work with the operations team to consistently follow the MACU Way.Other duties assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIESThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education must be from an accredited institution. Education and work experience will be verified.Licenses, Certifications, RegistrationsNMLS license requiredManagerial ResponsibilityHas leadership/managerial responsibilities that are direct or through work leaders or assistants, typically with a subordinate group of 8+ employees. Estimates personnel needs and assigns work to meet these needs. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy.Computer/Office Equipment SkillsDemonstrated proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Advanced level knowledge with lending software programs.
