Click here to learn more about NUWAY's benefits.Position OverviewThe LPN's role is to help educate and assist each client in achieving and maintaining their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through the provision of medication and treatment administration and through quality, personal care. The LPN must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.CompetenciesDemonstrates and exhibits knowledge around medication administration policy and procedures and provide meaningful feedback to staffRecognizes the potential for substance use disorders to mimic a variety of medical and psychological disorders and the potential for medical and psychological disorders to co-exist with addiction and substance useUnderstands and exhibits knowledge around urine analysis and breathalyzer policy and procedure and provide meaningful feedback to staffRecognizes and applies the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery processUnderstands and applies the professional's obligation to adhere to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct in the helping relationshipApplies a variety of helping strategies for reducing negative effects of substance use, abuse, and dependenceQualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:Must have a current LPN license in the State of MinnesotaMust be age 18 or olderMust have current First Aid/CPR Certification obtained within 30 days of starting workMust be able to pass Minnesota DHS background studyAbility to relate to people from diverse backgroundsPossess maturity, patience, understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary teamPhysical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilitiesConducts self in a professional mannerCompetent computer skills and able to effectively enter information in various systemsProficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
