General Summary of PositionUnder limited supervision, provides a higher level of direct patient care pharmacy services for an assigned, specialized patient population to assure adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises/consults with patients and their families and with the medical and nursing staff. Participates In research and drug use outcomes management programs within specialty area; responsible for publishing data or giving presentations at local, regional or national meetings; instructs and trains pharmacy residents and students; assists In overseeing and directing the clinical services provided by pharmacists. Acts as a mentor to clinical pharmacists and clinical specialists.Minimum QualificationsEducationDoctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of Pharmacy required orEquivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy requiredExperience8-10 years of direct patient care experience in a specialty area required orPGY-1 and PGY-2 plus an additional 4 years of experience required orPGY-1 plus 6 years direct patient care experience in a specialty area requiredLicenses and CertificationsPHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the District of Columbia requiredBoard certification in area of specialty requiredThis position has a hiring range of $118,331 - $230,172
