Join Omni Wound Physicians - Expanding Advanced Wound Care Services Across TexasOmni Wound Physicians - In-Person Field-Based Care Across TexasFull-Time or Part-Time | Direct Hire (W-2) or 1099 ContractorOmni Wound Physicians is actively hiring Mobile Wound Care Physicians (MDs/DOs) across Texas to deliver advanced, in-person wound care services. This is a field-based, procedural physician role serving patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), long-term care centers, and private residences.This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking autonomy, flexibility, and purpose-driven care delivery in a mobile environment. Both direct hire (W-2) and independent contractor (1099) models are available.Hiring Locations (Texas)We are currently hiring in:North Texas: Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Denton, McKinneyCentral Texas: Austin, Waco, Killeen, TempleSouth Texas: San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Laredo, McAllenEast Texas: Houston, Beaumont, Tyler, LongviewWest Texas: El Paso, Midland, Odessa, LubbockStatewide travel opportunities for underserved or rural areasOur team covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring that patients across Texas receive high-quality wound care services wherever they are needed.Schedule & Shift OptionsMinimum Scheduling Requirement: At least two shifts per work week.Shifts: Typically between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs).Full-Time: Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package).Part-Time: Minimum 2 shifts per week (paid sick time accrual available).On-Call & Weekend Coverage: Some on-call or weekend coverage may be required, but team members will typically be notified in advance to ensure personal commitments are not interrupted whenever possible.Pay TransparencyEmployment Pay Range: $245,000 - $425,000 annuallyFinal compensation is based on provider classification, regional coverage, experience, and productivity. This role may also include incentive or bonus eligibility depending on assignment type.Job Type OptionsDirect Hire (W-2):Competitive per-visit OR base hourly/salary (bi-weekly payroll)Separate vacation and sick time accrualsCME reimbursement and support for wound care certification (CWSP, CWS)Mileage reimbursement for work-related travelCompany-paid malpractice insurance401(k) with employer matchIndependent Contractor (1099):Flexible schedulingCompetitive per-visit rates (Paid semi-monthly)Must provide:Active malpractice insuranceRequired active/valid documentation (LLC, EIN, W-9)Mileage not reimbursed (eligible as tax-deductible expense)No benefits or tax withholdings providedCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeliver bedside wound care to patients in SNFs, LTCs, and homesPerform wound care procedures: sharp debridement, NPWT, biopsies, gastrostomy careDiagnose and manage complex wounds (diabetic, venous, arterial, pressure, post-op)Secure and document informed patient consent prior to treatmentEducate patients and caregivers on wound management and preventionDocument visits in real time using OWP's HIPAA-compliant EHR systemCollaborate with SNF staff, interdisciplinary teams, and internal coordinatorsParticipate in clinical quality improvement and workflow optimizationPerform other reasonable duties as assigned in support of organizational goalsQualifications & ExperienceRequired:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degreeActive, unrestricted medical license in TexasBoard certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted)Minimum of 3-6 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialtiesBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationReliable transportation and a valid Texas driver's licensePreferred:Wound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within 1 monthDEA registration for prescriptive authority (preferred but not required)Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settingsProficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency toolsPhysical and Travel RequirementsAble to walk, stand, bend, and perform bedside procedures for extended periodsAble to lift up to 25 pounds (equipment, supplies)Daily driving required (up to 70 miles/day)Must have auto insurance meeting Texas minimum liability requirementsMust enter SNFs or homes that may lack ADA access or elevator serviceMust document care using mobile technology (tablet, laptop)Texas ComplianceFull Practice Authority: MDs and DOs may independently treat and prescribeCME Requirement: 48 hours every 24 months, including:At least 24 hours in formal Category 1 or 1A courses2 hours in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility2 hours in pain management and the prescription of opioids1 hour in human trafficking prevention (first renewal and every third renewal thereafter)Controlled Substances:DEA registration required for prescribing Schedule II-V medicationsElectronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) mandated, with waivers available under certain circumstancesLicense Renewal: Biennial via the Texas Medical Board; renewal requires completion of CME requirements and submission of fingerprints for criminal background check if not previously completedEqual Opportunity StatementOmni Wound Physicians is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all Texas labor, anti-discrimination, and equal pay laws.
