OverviewResponsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risks, cyber threats, and ensuring operational resilience. Responsible for safeguarding the organization against technical risks. Works with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to the organization's technology infrastructure, applications, and data. Assist in developing and implementing risk management strategies, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Growing an understanding of business needs and objectives. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and techniques.ResponsibilitiesConduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on existing and new technologiesCollaborate with IT and security teams to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategiesMonitor and analyze security incidents and trends to improve risk management practicesAssist in the development and implementation of risk management policies and proceduresStay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to information security and risk managementParticipate in audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to relevant regulationsProvide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on risk findings, trends, and risk mitigation effortsWork with internal teams to promote risk awareness and drive a culture of risk management across the organizationAssist with with the management of external vendors and service providers to ensure third-party risks are adequately managedQualificationsBasic understanding of business and operating environmentExperience in risk analysis, information security, or a related areaExperience with risk assessment frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience with information technology, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and cloud computingKnowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements like ISO 27001, NIST, or COBITStrong analytical skills to assess risks and determine appropriate mitigation strategiesAbility to interpret technical data and assess its impact on business operationsVerbal and written communication skills to report on risk findings and collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to identify potential technical risks and propose practical solutions for risk mitigationStrong attention to detail in evaluating risk factors, control measures, and compliance issuesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experienceDesired QualificationsMaster's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experienceRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are a plusExperience with security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, etc.)Knowledge of cloud security principles and practicesUnderstanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PMLocation: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 | 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 | 141 Security Drive, Winchester, VA 22602 | 9999 Willow Creek Road, San Diego, CA 92131About UsNavy Federal provides much more than a job.
