We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.*Featured Benefits:** *Committed to Team Member Health: *offering medical, dental and vision coverage, and a robust team member wellness program.* *Retirement: *Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions - starting on your first day.* *Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: *offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans.* *Mental Health Support:* offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.* *Work/Life Balance:* offering paid time off, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, and remote and hybrid career opportunities.*Surgical Technologist 1 Job Responsibilities** Performs and/or provides scrub assistance during procedures that reflect an awareness of anatomy, necessary principles, skills, supplies, and adequate knowledge base.* Assists the circulating nurse in implementing the perioperative plan of care to include: patient positioning, confirmation/preparation of the operative site, updating physician preference card, care of operative specimens, and room turnover.* Identifies factors relative to the patient's age and developmental stage that must be considered during the surgical procedure.* Assists with pulling cases and checks case carts for completeness, obtains supplies and equipment, and determines them to be in good working order before a case begins.* Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.* Follows policies for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, setting up the back table, draping, and counting with the circulating nurse.* Exercises care in the operation and use of instruments/equipment/ and reports/follow the appropriate procedure for broken items.* Follows OSHA and hospital infection control policies at all times.* May perform additional duties as assigned.*Surgical Technologist 1 Requirements:** *Working Hours:* Five (5) 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p or Three (3) 12-hour shifts 7a-730p* *Certification: *Basic Life Support (AHA) Upon Start* *License: *Must be Registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist* *Years of Experience: *None required.
