Job Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Associate General Counsel to join our General Counsel Health team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.*Summary:*Provide Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) leadership with sound and solution-oriented legal representation and policy analysis.*Responsibilities:** In the performance of all duties, support the Chickasaw Nation team's mission of enhancing the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people* In the performance of all job duties, must provide the best in professional service and support all CNDH Departments in the performance of their respective core functions* Provide direct and ongoing project management and problem solving in relation to potentially difficult or challenging in-house legal matters* Provide solution-oriented legal representation to all CNDH departments and, as directed, provide legal assistance to other Chickasaw Nation Departments* Serve as primary point-of-contact for assigned client-Departments and designated health-related legal subject matter (e.g., contracts, privacy and security, etc.)* As directed, prepare and finalize legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, and negotiate, write, review, and finalize contracts, reports, research memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents* As appointed, represent CNDH and/or office of executive counsel (OEC) on appropriate boards and committees* As directed, prepare formal legal opinions on behalf of the OEC* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types* Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner* Greets and engages with a smile* Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types* Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment* Maintains and promotes professionalism* Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics* Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assigned*Competencies:*Essential:* Ability to maintain effective working relationships and coordinate program services with other agencies and departments serving mutual clients* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Must be detail-oriented* Must be self-motivated* Ability to work independently* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management*Skills:*Essential:* Must have intermediate familiarity of Office software* Senior level project management skills*Experience:*Essential:* 3 years directly related experience*Education:*Essential:* High School, GED or Equivalent* Juris Doctorate*Credentials:*Essential:* Standard Driver's License* Chickasaw Bar Association* Pass general background check* Oklahoma Bar Association*Working Conditions:*Essential:* Sitting up to 50% of shift* Standing up to 50% of shift* Walking up to 50% of shift* Visual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perception* Pass pre-employment drug test#INDWork Location: In person
