Job TitleProgram Coordinator I - KAMU-2AgencyTexas A&M UniversityDepartmentEducational Broadcast ServicesProposed Minimum SalaryCommensurateJob LocationCollege Station, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionA Glimpse of the JobThe Program Coordinator I is responsible for creating, producing, and directing a variety of radio, TV, and media programs produced by KAMU-TV/FM. This role will be primarily responsible for live event coverage/streaming and cross university and public contract production services, including but not limited to: graduations, awards presentations, Aggie Muster, Silver Taps, and Midnight Yell and The Bookmark. Provides instruction to student production workers assisting on productions and perform post-production editing as required.Job Responsibilities:Program Coordination - Develops concepts and designs for video production projects of varied duration and complexity. Creates storyboards, shot lists, and breakdown sheets for development. Assists with managing and coordinating logistics for video pre- and post-production processes. Films video on location and in a studio environment. Plans, directs, coordinates, and implements activities for assigned projects and other staff on video productions. Provides oversight and operation of studio facilities and equipment. Coordinates the process of video and multimedia equipment selection. Monitors cost-effectiveness and related budget of equipment/resources while ensuring quality standards are met in all final products. Assists in identifying funding opportunities. Assists with coordinating program communications and marketing. Evaluates production programming activities and recommends changes. Prepares correspondence and responds to inquiries regarding video production programming.Production - Collaborates with appropriate department heads to determine technical aspects of productions. Edits post-produce broadcast and other video content. Prepares videos for delivery including compression, publishing and uploading. Develops, maintains and manages a records database for all video and multimedia assets, including files and materials. Creates, maintains, organizes and archives video and multimedia content for reference and easy access on future projects. Monitors daily activity and project status to ensure timely and effective delivery of videos and multimedia. Determines technical requirements and quality standards for productions or projects. Manages content and ensures smooth operations of live or live-to-tape broadcasts.Student Mentor - Serves as a point of contact for KAMU student worker production assistants in program production. Develops and updates training materials and deliver training. Provides instructions for new students in the operation of production equipment including cameras, lighting, audio, etc. Provides assistance to student production assistants in setting up production equipment and sets for a variety of television productions including remote productions such as live video streams of commencement ceremonies.Planning - Compiles production statistics. Provides input to administrative staff regarding budgetary needs, equipment purchases, production materials, and programming priorities.Meetings - Participates in staff meetings relating to pre-production planning and workflow, providing ideas, insight, etc., for production capabilities. Provides input to KAMU-TV's administrative staff on the station's budgetary concerns, equipment purchases, production materials, and programming priorities.Other Duties - Performs other duties as assigned, including basic maintenance and operation of TV Studios, studio control room areas, edit bays, studio production equipment, EFP equipment, recording media, and consumable supplies.What you need to knowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.Special Instructions: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended. You may upload these in the CV/Resume section.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Two years of related experience in video production/editing or multimedia production programming.Preferred Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in fine arts, digital media, journalism or relevant field.More than two years of directly related experience in video production/editing and multimedia production.Related experience in radio, TV or media programming.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Portfolio of work available demonstrating Adobe Creative Suite proficiency, video production/editing skills and graphic design creativity.Proficiency with PC based editing systems and utilities.Mastery of digital SLR cameras, image editing, cinema camera operations, studio broadcast cameras, set design, continuous and strobe lighting, post-production editing, color grading, and audio editing.Software Proficiencies: Apple Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve.Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proven ability to create compelling shareable, original content via short form videos and live events.Proficiency with 3 axis gimbals, manual and automatic sliders and external recording devices.Drone photography and videography skills.Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment, within tight time and budget constraints.Attentive to detail to meet customer needs.Other Requirements or Other Factors:Works outside of standard work hours, evenings, and weekends.Why Texas A&M University?Texas A&M University is committed to enriching the learning and working environment by promoting a culture that respects all perspectives, talents & lived experiences.
