Sign on BonusReferral BonusPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysMedical/Vision/Dental InsurancesTuition Assistance ProgramPosition Summary: The primary function of this position is to assist the Charge Nursein the provision of nursing care and related services for all residents under their assignedarea and in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines, standards andregulations which govern the facility, and, as directed by the Nursing Supervisor and/orDirector of Nursing Services so as to ensure each resident's medical, psychosocial andspiritual needs and wishes are met effectively and efficiently on a continuum.Duties and Responsibilities: Nursing AssistantGeneral: 90%1. Assists residents in all activities of daily living including, but not limited to: bathing,dressing, grooming, nutritional needs, transferring, ambulation, continence and oralhygiene according to their interdisciplinary plan of care.2. Assists in performing restorative nursing functions such as bowel and bladder training,range of motion, turning and positioning, transfers, ambulation, vision, hearing, andcommunication.3. Responds to all resident call bells regardless of assignment.4. Carries out all basic care procedures such as, but not limited to, catheter care,temperatures, pulses, heights, weights, specimen collection, intakes5. Uses proper infection control techniques, including universal precautions, to preventthe spread of diseases.6. Observes residents and reports changes of physical, psychosocial, spiritual andemotional conditions to the Charge Nurse.7. Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.8. Adheres to, upholds and enforces all facility policies and procedures.9. Completes documentation regarding care and services rendered and the resident'sresponse or lack of response to the care/services rendered as directed by the ChargeNurse.10. Performs various cleaning duties, using appropriate sanitizing chemicals/solutions asindicated and as directed by the Charge Nurse.Administrative: 10%11. Attends all department meetings, educational programs, etc., as scheduled or directed.12. Actively participates in various quality improvement initiatives.13. Reports any supply/equipment needs, repairs, etc. to the Charge Nurse and/or Supervisor.14. Uses shift report to assess and organize their workday.15. Adheres to, upholds and enforces all regulations and recommendations of the Department of Health, the Health Care Financing Administration, the Department of Public Welfare, etc.16. Participates on various committees and with in-service training as directed.Miscellaneous/Other: (Exhibited 100%)17. Assumes all other duties as assigned.18. Maintains a professional, customer-oriented demeanor at all times.19. Works within a team concept and is thus cooperative with co-workers and peers.20. Maintains confidentiality of information.21. Represents the facility in a positive manner.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:1 . Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility with a medical and physical examination.2. Occasional sitting, lateral and low reaching , kneeling, twisting, and crouching.3. Must be able to walk, sit for extended periods of time, bend, lift and carry with help or an assistive device 140 lb on average. Push carts/or wheeled weight .. weighing up to three hundred (300) pounds. Carry 15 lbs.4. Required to reach, handle and manipulate equipment frequently.5. Moves intermittently throughout the workday.6. Works in and around all areas of the facility.7. Is subject to frequent interruptions and must then adjust schedule accordingly.8. Frequent standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, forward reaching, bending, and arm and finger use.9. May be subject to handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.10. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, blood and body fluids, diseases, conditions, etc.,such as TB, AIDS, and Hepatitis B viruses.11. May be subject to emotionally distraught residents, family members, visitors, personnel, etc.and must possess the ability to cope with the stresses of the environment.Educational and Experience Requirements:1. High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.2. Certification as a Nursing Assistant, or, meets the state and federal requirementsunder "grandmothering" regulations, or, attends an approved nurse aide trainingprogram to obtain eligibility for the Nurse Aide Competency Examination within 120days of employment.3. Ability to read writes and speaks English.4. Ability to follow oral and written direction.5. CPR certified or willing to become CPR certified
