Job Description

What You Can ExpectAs an Electrical & Instrument Technician II, you will plan job-site work sequences, conduct pre-job hazard assessments and briefs, coordinate outages, procure materials, complete assigned tasks, return systems to service, and document each step in the CMMS. You will also troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based auxiliary systems; design, implement, and configure new control schemes, modules, firmware, and software; monitor performance; and recommend improvements. In addition, you will update wiring diagrams, schematics, system logs, and technical drawings while providing training and functional supervision to staff, fully meeting E&I Tech II standards and any other assigned duties.Plan job-site work sequences, conducts pre-job hazard assessments/briefs, coordinates outages, procures materials, completes work, returns systems to service, and documents tasks in CMMSTroubleshoot and maintain PLC-based auxiliary systems; designs, implements, and configures control schemes, modules, firmware, and software; monitors performance and recommends improvementsUpdate wiring diagrams, schematics, system logs, and technical drawings; provides training and functional supervision to staff while meeting E&I Tech II standards and other assigned dutiesWhat You’ll BringAssociate’s degree in Automation & Instrumentation (A&I) or Electronics Engineering Technology (EET); in lieu of a degree a total of 4 years of direct industrial automation and controls experienceHolds or is pursuing a valid Class A Journeyman or equivalent license; strong grasp of AC theory, single/three-phase systems, and watt-hour metering, with practical application in power distribution and motor control optimizationA minimum of two (2) years’ experience in troubleshooting, calibration, fiber optic splicing, instrumentation, and utility system maintenanceKnowledge with OSHA standards, safety codes, and electrical regulationsProficiency in PLC programming, configuring control systems, reading schematics, and understanding Ethernet/network protocols and architecturesAdditional DetailsYou must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving recordYou must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policiesThis role requires daily attendance at worksiteMust be physically capable to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment and portable radio communicationCapable of frequently standing; walking; balancing; sitting; climbing (ladders, stairs, ramps, catwalks and the like as required); kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting (min. 50 lbs)Capable of performing repetitive motions as requiredRequired to have eyesight corrected at 20/40 to accurately read and interpret such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manualsMust be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glassesThe position consists of 85% work indoors and 15% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditionsCompensationHourly Range: $32.45 – $49.70 USD hourlyThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
