Terms and Conditions Apply./*/*The Speech Pathologist II job is an experienced therapist who is able to independently adapt intervention to meet specific patient’s needs. The Speech Pathologist is able to provide coverage in their primary setting, but also as needed throughout the hospital/rehab/outpatient settings with minimal-moderate amount of support and training from mentors, peers or the manager. The Speech Pathologist also assumes basic leadership roles within the department, demonstrates flexibility, exercises good judgment, problem solving and works collaboratively with colleagues.The Speech Pathologist II job participates in department projects or events in an efficient and productive manner. This role not only attends educational activities, but also provides in-service education to other staff. At Level II, the Speech Pathologist begins developing the skills to provide student supervision with mentorship of an experienced student supervisor. The Speech Pathologist II job can also participate in research activities at the department level, being mentored as needed by a more experienced Speech Pathologist.Job DescriptionLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:License (or licensure eligible) from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in SLP from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP Current CCC in SLP CPR certificationExperience REQUIRED:Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experiencePrevious clinical experience with evaluation/treatment of neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication disorders and swallowing disordersPrevious experience performing swallow studies including MBS and bedside assessmentsPrevious experience planning and executing treatmentExperience PREFERRED:Minimum of two (2) years of previous clinical experiencePrevious experience with trach management as related to swallowing and communication disordersPrevious experience managing complex swallowing and/or communication, linguistic/cognitive disordersMinimal novice experience with dysphasia including MBS and bedside swallow evaluationsPrevious work experience in a similar practice setting (e.g. critical care, long term care, outpatient, etc.)Previous experience with computer-based documentation systemsEducation/training REQUIRED:Masters Degree from an ASHA accredited program in Speech and Language PathologyCompletes required learning exchange coursesJob Types: Full-time, PRNBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Continuing education credits* Dental insurance* Disability insurance* Employee discount* Flexible schedule* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Opportunities for advancement* Paid time off* Referral program* Relocation assistance* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 10 hour shift* 12 hour shiftWork Location: In person
