We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Auto Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster to join our dynamic Claims team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in handling Automobile Bodily Injury claims ranging from minor injuries to high-severity losses, including Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist claims for both Commercial and Personal Auto policies.This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a thorough understanding of comparative negligence principles, state and federal regulatory compliance, and the full claims lifecycle, including litigation management in collaboration with internal and external counsel.Responsibilities:Investigate motor vehicle accidents to determine coverage, liability, and damages, including conducting interviews with customers, claimants, and witnesses.Manage a wide range of claims, from minor incidents to complex, high-severity losses.Analyze and interpret policy coverage and contractual obligations.Maintain accurate reserves and ensure timely reserve adjustments.Diligently manage loss adjustment expenses and adhere to budget guidelines.Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, underwriters, and internal claims management.Prepare and submit large loss reports as required.Retain and collaborate with expert vendors to assist in the technical evaluation of claims.Oversee and participate in the litigation process, ensuring alignment with internal best practices and external counsel.Demonstrate strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills throughout the claims process.Maintain compliance with internal claims handling guidelines and industry best practices.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.Minimum of five (5) years of Auto Bodily Injury claims experience, preferably across both personal and commercial lines.Solid knowledge of litigation processes, comparative negligence, and jurisdictional regulatory requirements.Insurance designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA are highly desirable.Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while managing and prioritizing caseloads effectively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and professionalism.Demonstrated experience in delivering high-level presentations, especially on large losses.Strong commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.Willingness to contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives within the Claims organization.Perks and Benefits:4 weeks accrued paid time off + 9 paid national holidays per yearOnsite free fitness centerTuition ReimbursementLow cost and excellent coverage health insurance options that start on Day 1 (medical, dental, vision)Robust health and wellness program and fitness reimbursementsAuto and home insurance discountsMatching gift opportunitiesAnnual 401(k) Employer Contribution (up to 7.5% of your base salary)Resources to promote Professional Development (LinkedIn Learning and licensure assistance)Convenient location directly across from South Station and Pre-Tax Commuter BenefitsVarious Paid Family leave options including Paid Parental LeaveAbout the CompanyPilgrim Insurance is a member of The Plymouth Rock Group of Companies which together write and manage over $2 billion in personal and commercial auto and homeowner's insurance throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
